Day 28 – End of the Road

Well, we made it. We’re at our new temporary home ready to start the search for a new place to live.  It was an uneventful last day of driving, and it went almost to schedule.

We got up on time, we found a ratchet strap to hopefully keep the tarp in line, and found a coffee shop. I wasn’t thrilled with the food choices, so, no real breakfast for me, but that’s OK. We got on the interstate and got going. The strap kept the tarp from flapping as much and wearing too thin, so we could actually go the speed limit.

We grabbed some pizza slices in Iowa for lunch during a refuel stop, and kept trucking. We made it through to Illinois with no difficulty… and then it started to rain ever so slightly. By the time we go to the hotel, it was misting, but enough to make unpacking the top of the car an unpleasant experience.

But, we did it, we’re here, we made it. Now we get to start the fun times of finding a new place to live, and Lara gets to start her new job.

Well, for now, the posts will be infrequent and rarer. We may go back and fill in past adventures and may post some stuff about things we find around, or maybe just post about our general adventure in life.
